Conquering Lion Announces Plans to Remake "The Harder They Come"
Conquering Lion Pictures is excited to announce plans for a film based upon 1972's Jamaican classic, "The Harder They Come," which starred reggae legend Jimmy Cliff as an aspiring musician lured into crime. Conquering Lion will be working with U.K. production company Xingu Films and Jamaican producer Justine Henzell for this ambitious project.
"Next year is the 50th anniversary of Jamaica and the 40th anniversary of the original film, so the timing is perfect," said D'Oliveira. " 'The Harder They Come' was the first film to bring the real Jamaica to the world, and that spirit informs this new version."
